2025 Accomplishments

Dear Friends,

2025 has been a busy year with significant expansion of our operations in the remote, indigenous, impoverished villages of the high Andes of Peru and in the steppes and Gobi desert of Mongolia. The people of these areas are the poorest of the poor in their countries. This follows a successful transfer of operations to TDP partner organizations in Denan, Ethiopia and Uratari Peru in 2024. Our health care operations at these sites became self-sustaining and even larger in size and scope especially in Denan, after longstanding commitments of over 20 years in Denan and 14 years in Uratari.

This past year we consolidated our efforts in serving severely neglected populations of Peru and Mongolia. In both countries one of our primary focuses continues to be the reduction of infant mortality and the lessening of the high rate of deaths of mothers and children during the birthing process. The governments of both Mongolia and Peru have recognized us for our successful efforts in this area.

As we approach the 22nd anniversary of our founding, we also continue to expand our programs in health, education, agriculture, water and economic development mostly through interest free micro-loans. As always, all our services including free, high quality health care continue to be provided at no cost to our beneficiaries.

In Peru, in the area of education, we have eliminated access barriers and improved the quality of education and quality of life at schools in Peru. TDP aims to focus its next efforts on supporting students in grades 6 to 12 at the high school in Tudevtei located in the Zavkhan province of Mongolia. Sadly, many of these students go hungry at school because their families do not have enough money to pay for their meals and the Mongolian government does not have sufficient funds to pay for meals for all of the students in grades 6 – 12. This a major reason for the high drop-out rate after grade 6. TDP hopes to raise funds to help meet this need.

The Denan Project continues to be completely run by a group of dedicated volunteers who even pay their own expenses when they visit our sites to ensure that every penny raised goes directly to benefit some of the poorest people on this planet. Not many organizations can make this claim. Please read through the enclosed materials produced and paid for by our volunteers, to see the many ways in which your donations have benefitted those in true need.

None of what we have accomplished would have been possible without your thoughtfulness and generosity. As we continue our efforts, we hope you will help us spread the word about The Denan Project. With your assistance, we have made the lives of hundreds of thousands of desperate people much better and their future a little brighter.

Thank you all for your past support and we humbly ask that you consider The Denan Project in your 2025 charitable giving plans. We can’t wait to see what the future will bring!

With our deepest gratitude,

2024 HIGHLIGHTS

PERU

  • TDP continued to provide medical services at its health center in Cusibamba in Paruro District and added a mobile medical outreach program to expand its reach. Plans are currently being made to open a new fully equipped health center and dental clinic in the village of Urinccossco.
  • 50 impoverished kids from Cusibamba and its surrounding villages who were previously denied access to the high school in Colcha because their families could not afford the $15/month fee for meals, are now enrolled and attending. The high school is the only one in the entire area.
  • TDP purchased a prefabricated dormitory and provided new bunk beds, blankets, sheets, pillows and other bedding for students at the boarding school in Urinccossco in Quiquijana District. Previously students slept two-to-a bed on used beds that the local jail had discarded. A second prefabricated dormitory is now under construction.
  • TDP purchased a solar water heater for the boarding school in Urinccossco, providing students and their teacher with hot water for the first time.
  • TDP provided propane gas to power the stoves in the kitchen of the boarding school in Urinccossco. Previously, meals were being cooked over a wood fire because the community could not afford to cover the cost of the gas.
  • Microloan programs were started in the communities of Colcha and in the villages of Cusibamba and Urinccossco.
